OSU Football Game
Saturday September 12th, 2026
Reser Stadium, Corvallis
The Sigma alumni brothers attended the Beaver football game versus Texas Tech on Saturday September 12. We were all seated together. There was an acknowledgement of our Sigma KDR alumni group on the jumbotron in the stadium during the game!
There was some rain showers but it did not deter our spirit and we all stayed through the end. The Beavers were leading the 13th ranked Red Raiders in the fourth quarter but ultimately lost in a close contest.
The Brothers gathered and attended a board meeting prior to the game and enjoyed lunch organized by brothers Tom and Chip. After the game we reconvened for a great dinner organized by brothers Russ and Bob.

2026 Founder's Day
The Sigma alumni brothers celebrated Founder's Day and had a board meeting on Saturday, May 2nd. Officers were elected, various future activities were discussed and food was served. Later that evening, we gathered again for a nice Italian dinner. Thank you brother Tom for the food arrangements.

Secretary: Chip Carter
Bill Ott stepped down as president after serving the organization very well for over 10 years as president. Bill will continue to serve on the board of directors. Thank you Bill for the wonderful leadership!

What's New
Under Consideration
The Sigma alumni brothers are investigating a possible project to construct/provide housing and to use the process to mentor youths. The brothers are considering partnering with habitat for humanity.
Additionally, the Sigma alumni brothers are considering selecting candidates to help mentor and fund skill development for upcoming and recent high school graduates.
Richard "Chip" Carter receives ORDO award
Chip Carter has received the ORDO award from the National KDR Fraternal Society. See the detailed write up of this award from national using this link: National Writeup.
Sigma Chapter Helps Lambda Chapter
A few years ago Jon Dunham, at Al Peterson's request, provided Sigma Scoop examples and experience that helped the UC Berkeley "Lambda" Chapter of KDR get their equivalent of the Sigma Scoop going again. Their publication is called the "Lambda Lyre". Jon has worked on the Sigma Scoop for the Sigma Chapter for many years and is still heading up that effort. Al graduated from UC Berkeley with an MBA after receiving a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State and being a Sigma Chapter member. Al has been involved with both the Sigma and Lambda Chapters for years. A PDF of the 2026 Summer Edition of the Lamba Lyre is in the PDF below.
